GPS Units are a sensor that allows for the robot to be aware of it's longitude and latitude using the US DoD (Department of Defence) geo-positioning system.
However since the GPS system has an accuracy that varies up to 15 meters, it's use in robotics is limited. The units are the standard chip that is utilised in the handheld GPS units, and sends a string in the NMEA standard GPS format to the controller for processing.
